Direct Fixation Solutions
Iron Horse Engineering supplies materials related to rail anchorage alignment to vibratory reduction. Our parts either retained as part of the permanent track structure or as templates assisting the track construction.
Vibration Dampening Pads
Vibration dampening pad placed under direct fixation plates.
Direct Fixation Shims
DF Shims placed under the DF pad, used for adjustments to rail elevation.
Direct Fixation Plates
Steel rail plate for anchorage direct to concrete bridge deck or tunnel base. Fabricated for running rail or guard rail.
Steel anchors set in place with rail to allow for pours to stabilize exact location. Used with Iron Horse Gauge Support Fixtures for DF fasteners on bridge becks.
Gauge Support Fixtures
One of the first products offered by Iron Horse Engineering, gauge support fixtures allow for "top-down" construction, significantly reducing installation times. By supporting the rail from above, contractors are able to make adjustments in gauge and alignment with ease prior to pouring concrete. Ultimately reduces the need for additional shimming and adjustments typically required in “bottom-up” installation.
Temporary Clips (Butterfly Clips)
Butterfly clips are a critical component in top down direct fixed construction used for temporary support of DF fasteners. These clips facilitate proper anchorage embedment during plinth pours allowing release for rail temperature expansion.
Slobber Plates are placed under the DF fastener in top down construction method as a surface form for concrete plinth pours.
Embedded Anchors & Epoxy
Nylon threaded rail anchorage inserts used in conjunction with bolts, washers, insulated bushings and DF Plates in DF rail construction.
Concrete anchorage system for DF construction.
Emergency Guard Rail ???? (might go to another spot)
Structural Steel Angle set on ties or DF Plinths in gauge of rails to protect derailment.
